The Look of Jesus

While [Peter] was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. . . . So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

Luke 22:60-62, NKJV

The night Jesus was betrayed, a man stepped up to Peter in the courtyard of the temple compound and challenged him: “Didn’t I see you with [Jesus] in the olive grove?” (John 18:26, NIV). All the tension and anger of the past hours exploded in Peter and tumbled out in a stream of curses as he insisted, “I don’t know the man!” Yet as he spoke, he heard the unmistakable sound of a rooster crowing in the distance. At that very moment, a commotion in the breezeway got everyone’s attention. With the denial still burning his lips, Peter looked into the eyes of Jesus!

The look of Jesus was like a flaming fire, burning away Peter’s hypocrisy and sin. Then as the entourage around Jesus roughly pushed and shoved Him forward, the moment passed. Peter, shaken to the core of his being, went out into the night, where he “wept bitterly,” sobbing out his confession to God.

Three days later, Peter knew his sin had been forgiven when he met the risen Christ. Do you have the uneasy feeling that Jesus is “looking” at you? Is your heart burning with shame and guilt? Don’t shed tears, shed your pride and come to Him for cleansing and restoration.

The Grave Clothes

Upon hearing the news of the empty tomb, Peter and John ran to see for themselves. Peter confronted the evidence, but he was confused. At that instant, he must have been angrier than ever. He must have surmised that the enemies of Jesus who had dared to crucify Him, had now taken the body for who knew what purpose!

John quietly looked around. He noticed that the grave clothes were totally unlike those of Lazarus, which had been just a pile of stinking rags by the time Martha had finished unwrapping him. These grave clothes were lying, not as though someone had removed them from the body, but as though the body were still inside! The face cloth was situated where the face would have been, with the few inches of the neck separating it from the rest of the shroud. As he studied the evidence, it must have gradually dawned on him that the grave clothes looked like an empty cocoon! They looked as though the body had just evaporated up through them! Then John knew! (John 20:8). The body hadn’t evaporated. Jesus had risen from the dead!

Put your seeds in Jesus’ hands and let Him deal with your situation

Put your seeds in Jesus’ hands and let Him deal with your situation

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small
fishes: but what are they among so many
John 6: 8-9

Philip said, “Forget it! There’s no way we can feed this many.” But Andrew started out the right way, saying, “There is a little guy here
who has five loaves and two fishes. That’s something, but what are five
loaves and two fishes going to do for this many people?”

Have you ever had a bill due and didn’t have the money to pay it? When
you find yourself in such a situation, you should not be need conscious
but seed conscious. If you don’t have enough to meet your need, then
you look at what you have as seed. Give the seed to God and allow Him
to multiply what you have given Him. Put it in Jesus’ hands and let Him
deal with your situation.
May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Be Bold To Act Your Faith, For God Has Not Given Us The Spirit Of Fear; But Of Power, And Of Love, And Of Sound Mind

BE BOLD TO ACT YOUR FAITH, FOR GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE
SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND (2 TIMOTHY 1:7)

I’m always so inspired each time I study the accounts of
certain characters in the Bible who displayed outstanding boldness and courage
in the face of fierce oppositions. David, for one, as a young lad, fearlessly
challenged and defeated Goliath, who according to the Bible terrified the whole
of Israel, including Saul the king (1 Samuel 17:4-11). How come David was able
to defeat Goliath? He certainly wasn’t the only one that knew about God’s
covenant with Israel, but he was bold to act his faith, on the basis of that
covenant.

It’s not enough that you know and believe what God has said
about you in His Word, you must consciously take action, on the basis of that
knowledge! You must be bold to act your faith! Faith is action added to the
Word of God that you have heard and believed. If there’s no action, then
there’s no faith, for faith without corresponding action is dead (James 2:26).
The Christian life is a participation in divinity, and to be able to experience
this to the full, you must be bold to act your faith! You must recognize and
take advantage of the dynamic ability of the spirit that’s at work in you.

The Apostle Peter understood this and boldly commanded a man
that was lame from birth to rise up and walk: “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).
And when it
looked as though the man wasn’t going to respond, Peter, the Bible says, “took him by the right hand, and lifted him
up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping
up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and
leaping, and praising God”
(Acts 3:7-8).

The Bible says, “The
righteous are bold as a lion”
(Proverbs 28:1); there’s a supernatural power
at work in your life that produces divine courage. So like Peter, be bold to
act your faith today! Be bold to address satan and negative circumstances in
the Name Of Jesus Christ and expect a change.

CONFESSION

My Heavenly Father has not given me the spirit of fear but
of power, love and of a sound mind; therefore I’m bold today to act my faith; I
function with the ability of the Spirit today for the Spirit of God is working
in my life, causing me to have divine courage and confidence, in the Name of
Jesus Christ. Amen!

You are the best of you.

Jesus, followed by Simon Peter and Andrew

Even every one that is
called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea,
I have made him (Isaiah 43:7).

The reason
many people still find themselves in unpleasant situations is that they have
not come to terms with their identity in Christ Jesus. You must realize that
you aren’t a part of the masses. Though you’re in the world, you’re not subject
to its rules and procedures.

From the day
you were born again, God gave you the ability to become the best of you that
you could be. In Matthew 4:19, Jesus met two fishermen (Peter and Andrew) and
said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”. What interests
me here is not what they would become (Fishers of men) but that Jesus was the
One making them, and not they trying to become.

Therefore,
the issue isn’t what you’re being made into, but that God is the One making
you. If He makes you, nobody can unmake you! He lives in you to make you become
that dream that you have in your heart. You don’t need money to become what He
wants you to be.

You don’t
have to wait for promotion to take you from one level to another. You are a
child of God and you deserve the best. It doesn’t matter where you begin; what
matters is where you are going. Wake up, rise, shake yourself out of the dust,
and be the person God has ordained you to be because you can!

PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank You for choosing me
out of the world for Your glory. Thank You for the divine ability to become
whatever I want to be. I take advantage of this power that’s at work in me and
I bring forth durable fruit, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
