ENTERING YOUR REST.

MOMENTS FOR REFLECTION.

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” [HEBREWS 4:11].

Good morning and welcome to this beautiful day. Beloved be reminded to be part of this evening’s Bible study, you will be tremendously blessed by it as you enter your rest in Jesus Christ name! Amen.

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” [HEBREWS 4:9]. Have you been labouring so hard and wondering when you will enter into your rest? Are the trials, temptations and difficulties you often encounter along the pilgrim’s way getting at you?

Friend, are you asking God: when will it be over so that I can truly have a sigh of relief? Rejoice, it will soon be over in Jesus name. You will soon enter into your rest. You will soon arrive at your promised land. Do not waste your years of labour. One of these days, it could even be sooner than you thought, you will arise into a glorious dawn.

All your worries and struggles will be over. You shall not die before entering into your rest. All the plans of the gates of hell to derail you from making it to heaven will fail. You will reach your goal in Jesus Christ name! Amen.

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” [HEBREWS 4:11]. God is encouraging you to continue the fight. Every move you make in righteousness, faith, service to God is taking you closer to your rest.

However, if there was a time to be very careful it is now. You may have gone more than one-quarter, one-third, half or even three -quarters of your journey into the city of rest. You may just have a very short time left hence you need to be more careful now than when you first believed.

Why do you have to be extra careful? Some believers were careless and slipped away when they were very close to their promised land. Some could not enter because of being mentally attached to the Egypt they left years ago [NUMBERS 11:4 -6].

Some became offended and began to murmur and complain over every slight problem [EXODUS 15:24]; Some engaged in negative confessions to their destruction [NUMBERS 14:27-30]; Others were swept off their feet by lust of the flesh [NUMBERS 11:4, 18 -20, 31 -34].

It was unbelief that sank the faith of some [HEBREWS 4:11] etc. Remember Moses could not enter into the Promised Land he was to take the Israelites into because of anger. This is the time to check those little, little things in your life capable of hindering your entry.

Beloved, prayerfully expunge them and yield totally to God. Keep on working for the Lord. Keep on your fight of faith! It will soon be over and you will finish well and strong in Jesus Christ amazing and victorious name! Amen.

Dear friend, you are tired of your impossible spouse. All attempts to have a peaceful home has failed. You are strongly considering divorce. Don’t! A way is around the corner. Ask God in Jesus Christ precious name Amen-Shalom.

Father Almighty, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, covered by the power of His blood.

Declaration of Faith

We decree that any satanic agents that will obstruct our way of progress be struck down by the thunder from heaven. May any kingdom associated with terminating our lives and endeavors be cast into the den of destruction.

Confronting Spiritual Enemies

We confront any king of Medes and Persia that will stand to take away our blessings, favor, and progress. May the Archangel Michael and his group, by the power in the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, brutalize them unmercifully in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Declaration of Victory

This period is a fighting season, we declare that the gates of hell shall never prevail against the children of God. We have taken over in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Morning Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for creating me and delighting in me. Thank you for calling my name and speaking to my heart. Thank you that your life in me is ever growing. Open my eyes to see your presence with me today. Come and dwell within me so that I can give you glory.

Lord, I am honoured that you have called me. As I have heard your call to faith, teach me to be ready and willing to respond to your call and to follow you. Give me the courage to walk in the path you have set out for me. Give me the grace to take another step toward the perfection you want for me. May I follow without hesitation wherever you are leading me.

Holy Spirit, I am determined to walk with you today and always. I trust that you will help see me through. Inflame my heart with your love and bring my spiritual instincts to life. “Praising God for What He Does: A Heart of Gratitude”

Praising God for What He Does

TEXT: Psalm 146: 1-10(NKJV)

146:1. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

146:2. While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

146:3. Do not put your trust in princes, [Nor] in a son of man, in whom [there is] no help.

146:4. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

146:5. Happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope [is] in the LORD his God,

146:6. Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that [is] in them; Who keeps truth forever,

146:7. Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.

146:8. The LORD opens [the eyes of] the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous.

146:9. The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.

146:10. The LORD shall reign forever — Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

STUDY:

This Psalm is “the first of five joyous hymns of praise that close the Psalter” (The Ryrie Study Bible). It opens with a call to praise (vv. 1-5). The writer declared that he would praise the Lord while he lived (v.2). He listed the reasons for the praise as the greatness of God (v.6) and the graciousness of God (vv.7-10): God made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. God executes justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry, gives freedom to the prisoners, opens the eyes of the blind, raises those who are bowed down, helps widows and orphans among other things He does. We cannot enumerate all that God does to warrant our praising Him. The truth is that our experiences of God are different and the way we praise Him sometimes is based on our personal experiences. Do you feel there is nothing worthwhile God has done for you-just praise Him that you are alive today. That gives you more opportunity to be hopeful.”… A living dog is better than a dead lion” (Eccl. 9:4). You can also praise God for who He is; a great and mighty God!

Dear Lord, may I always see reasons to praise you daily in my life in Jesus Christ mighty name I pray! Amen.

“Heaven on Earth Family: Achieving Heavenly Harmony in Our Homes”

Heaven on Earth Family

The theme or the topic is in alignment with the theme for the family weekend which is ‘Heaven on Earth Family’, Ephesians 3:14 – 19. Heaven is the abode of our God, is where God lives, where He resides with His angels and saints, Isaiah 66:1, John 14: 1-3; Heaven is where everything operates according to the will of God, 3^rd John 2; heaven is a place of ineffable peace and joy, everlasting peace, Revelation 21: 1 – 4.

Earth is a temporary living place of man, 2 Corinthians 5: 1 & 2.

A family is a group of two or more people related by birth, by blood or adoption, who are living together.

A bit of journey into an expansion into what family can mean; communal family, Luke 7: 11-15; professional family, Luke 5: 1 – 11; spiritual family, Romans 8:14 – 17, 1^stCorinthians 12: 12-27; global family, Genesis 1:26 – 28, Genesis 9: 1-3, Genesis 12.

Attributes of our earthly families: strive,backbiting, deceit, wickedness, unforgiveness, all of that; heavenly family:peace, love, healing, harmony,perfection, success, glorious.

Factors to achieve the heaven on earth family status; two categories, one, the inward and outward attributes.

Inward attributes:

We must follow God’s order and design for family as a priority, 1^stCorinthians 14: 40.
We must invite God into our home, Psalm22:3, John 4:23 & 24.
We must trust God always, Proverbs 3: 5 – 8.

Outward attributes:

We must seek the good and well-being of our family members.
Show them the way of Salvation, 2nd Corinthians 5:18 – 20.
We who are saved must take interest in the salvation of our family members, Romans 10: 13 -17.

“The Bible, Gender, and Sexuality: Standing Firm against Homosexuality”

MEMORIZE:

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.” – Ephesians 4:25

Read: Romans 1:20-32

20. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30. Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31. Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful.

32. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

MESSAGE:

In conclusion of the teaching I started two days ago on gender and sexuality, I will like to share an experience I had with you. Some years ago, I was in one of the Western nations to preach, and a journalist interviewed me about my views on same-sex marriage. I told the fellow interviewing me that God made men and women to reproduce after their kind. Then I asked, “Is it possible for people of the same gender to produce offspring?” I concluded by telling the interviewer that if everyone was getting married to someone of the same sex, the world will come to an end in this generation.

As a child of God, whenever you have the opportunity to speak about homosexuality, don’t beat around the bush. The reason evil thrives is that good people are too afraid to say the truth. Don’t keep quiet when people say that they are sexually attracted to people of the same gender as them. Don’t judge or condemn them, rather, tell them the truth with love. Condemning them will only make them put up a fight, and our God is not a God of condemnation, but of love. Speak to them in love, but still show them from the Scriptures that what they are feeling is not from God because He clearly speaks against it. Tell them that you are willing to pray with them and help them overcome that feeling.

Today’s Bible reading tells us what happens to people when they are left to their reprobate minds; such people cannot end well unless they repent. Stand firm against homosexuality and do everything you can to show people that are sexually attracted to individuals of the same sex the right way to live from the Scriptures. Lot stood firm against homosexuality in Genesis 19:1-7, even when he was under severe pressure. He did not allow the men of Sodom to come into his house to have sexual relations with the angels that he invited in, even though they pressed on him greatly and were going to break into his home.

Beloved, I know that in some countries, the government has made it illegal to speak the truth as regards homosexuality. However, we have a greater government in Christ, and we must represent Him everywhere we go. Do not stand by and do nothing while people are on their way to destruction; you have a responsibility to save as many as you can Jude 1:17-23.

Key Point:

Speak the truth in God’s word about homosexuality whenever you have the opportunity.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank You, Father, for the truths in Your Word that has made me stand out in righteousness.

2. Father, sanctify my heart by Your Holy Spirit so that only truthful words proceed from my mouth.

3. Father, give me the boldness to preach Your truths in love always without fearing men

4. Father, help me never to err such that my conscience becomes deadened to You.

5. Father, help me to always speak up wherever evil is manifesting In Jesus’ Name

6. Father, give me the wisdom and grace to reach people’s hearts for Jesus Christ

7. Father, help me to stand out for You in a perverted world as Lot did in Sodom in Jesus’ Name
