Dear Lord God, I Pray That I Grow In My Trust In You

Psalms_34-8: O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Psalms_34-8: O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

“O taste and see that the Lord [Our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8 (AMP)

When David wrote this psalm, he had experienced a lot in his life. He not only successfully battled the lion and the bear as a young shepherd, he single-handedly defeated Goliath, and survived King Saul’s many attempts to take his life. All of this couldn’t have been done without him first developing a strong trust and reliance on God. These experiences were the basis for his belief that the person who trusts in and takes refuge in God will not only be blessed and their success will be desired by others as they receive God’s goodness.

In life you find yourself trusting in a lot of things. You trust that your employer is going to pay you at the end of your workweek. You trust the pilot of your flight that he has the ability to get you safely to your destination.  Yet, how often have you been in a situation where you failed to trust in God?

If you can exercise trust and confidence in man who is capable of failure, then how much more should you put trust in a God, who never fails? Trust in the Lord with your whole heart, when you do you will be blessed.

Prayer:

Lord God, I pray that I grow in my trust in you. Let me never allow my surrounding circumstances to cause me to waver in my trust. Today, I take refuge in You and You alone, knowing that there is no safer place for me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

The Pain of Betrayal

Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

Luke 22:48, NKJV

Judas was one of Jesus’ very closest friends. He had been handpicked to be a disciple. He had been given the special responsibility of being treasurer for the entire band of disciples – a responsibility he had enjoyed as it gave him access to personal petty cash as well as prestige in the eyes of others. Yet it was this disciple who betrayed his Lord and Friend with a kiss! And although Jesus clearly knew the betrayal was coming, it was still a knifelike stab to His heart.

Have you ever been betrayed . . .

By a spouse who has taken a secret lover?

By a sibling who has stolen your inheritance?

By a co-worker who has taken the credit for a job you did?

If you have experienced betrayal, then you understand something of the stabbing pain Judas inflicted at the very outset of Jesus’ uphill struggle to the Cross and would resolve never to betray another.

Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed

Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed

Matthew 6:31

MATTHEW 6:25-34

Jesus is commanding us not to worry or be anxious about our material needs being met. It would be impossible to have no thought whatsoever about our physical needs. Even Jesus thought about His need for money to pay taxes (Mt. 17:24-27). We are simply not to be preoccupied with thinking about riches or spending our time worrying about necessities. These things will be added unto us as we seek first the Kingdom of God.

The way we take or receive an anxious thought is by speaking it. Doubtful thoughts will come, but we do not sin until we entertain them. According to this verse, speaking forth these thoughts is one way of entertaining them; therefore, don’t speak forth these negative thoughts.

It is imperative that we watch the words we say. Begin to speak words in faith that line up with God’s Word, then positive results will follow. If we speak words of doubt, we will eventually believe them and have the negative things that these words produce. There are no such things as “idle” words which will not work for or against us. Death or life is in the power of every word we speak (Prov. 18:21). Our words can be our most powerful weapon against the devil, or they can become a snare of the devil (Prov. 6:2).

Today watch your words. Speak only things that will express your faith, trust, and confidence in the Lord and not your fear about the situations you face.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Do not be afraid; only believe. Just Trust!

Do not be afraid; only believe. Just Trust!

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Mark 5:36

Like a little child, we often complain how scary it is to walk where we can’t see. We’ve reason to be cautious. We have absolutely no vision beyond the present.

Jairus was the senior religious leader in the synagogue, the best-known citizen in town! But when he approaches Jesus, he’s a blind man begging for a gift.

“My daughter’s dying. Please come! Put your hands on her so she’ll be healed and live!”

Before Jairus gets very far, he’s interrupted by those who tell him “Your daughter is dead. There’s no need to bother the teacher anymore.” But Mark 5:36 says,
“But Jesus paid no attention to what they said.” I love that line! Jesus instead compels Jairus to see the unseen!

“Trust me,” Jesus is pleading. “Don’t be afraid—just trust!”

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small matters will be dishonest in large ones
Luke 16:10

Faithful in Least, Faithful in Much

This Scripture doesn’t say, “He that is not faithful.” It says, “He
that is unjust.” If you are not faithful, you are unjust.

God is not going to give you a bonus if you are mishandling what He has
already given you. Many people are living in houses they should not be
living in, driving cars they should not be driving, and wearing clothes
they should not be wearing. They are trying to look prosperous or be
prosperous, but they are doing it the natural way instead of doing it
through the power of God.

If you are working two and three jobs to keep up the appearance of
prosperity, you need to downsize. If you are not being a good steward
over the goods God has given you now, you are preventing God from
making you rich.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
