Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread (Matthew 6:11)

English: The Last Supper of Jesus Christ

Give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11)

Today! I want to encourage you to remember who it is who meets all of your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

It is your Heavenly Father!

He who did not withhold His Son for you, but gave Him up as a sacrifice for you, certainly He will withhold no good thing from you on this day.

The gift of salvation reveals how willing God is to do us good. It shows us His kind intention toward us. It gives us a glimpse of His great love, His wonderful grace, and His everlasting mercy. Provision has been made for you, but it requires the prayer of faith to receive it. You must pray for salvation before it ever becomes real in your life. In the same way you must pray for every need to be met before God can enter your life and supply all of your need. So pray today, because your Heavenly Father is waiting to respond to you in love so that you may be satisfied with good life and length of days, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Run To The Cross

READ: Hebrews 10:28-39

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. —Hebrews 10:31

Whenever a tsunami warning is given on the northern coastline of Maui, Hawaii, the people living in Hana rush up the side of a mountain to a high place of safety. Nearby is a tall wooden cross that was placed there many years ago by missionaries. For their physical safety, people run to the area where the cross is located.

In a similar way, all of us need a place of spiritual safety. Why? Because the Lord gives us these warnings in His Word: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and “the wages of sin is death” (Rom. 3:23; 6:23). Hebrews 9:27 states: “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” We might not like to think about what the consequences of our sin will be as we face a Holy God, but it’s a serious thing “to fall into the hands of the living God” (10:31).

The good news is that out of love for us, the Father has provided a place of safety! He sent His Son Jesus to die so we wouldn’t have to be separated from Him forever (Rom. 5:8-10; Col. 1:19-22).

Because of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, that place of safety is available. Have you run to the cross? —Anne Cetas

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain. —Bennard

To escape sin’s curse, run to the cross.

Let Us Therefore Come Boldly Unto The THrone Of Grace That We May Obtain Mercy, And Find Grace To Help In Time Of Need (Hebrews 4:16)

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

How many times do you struggle with your own personal needs? How many times do you wrestle with trying to meet them on your own? How often do you waste energy trying to figure things out for yourself? You plan, set out a strategy and work to make ends meet.

Why do you do this when God tells you to come boldly to His throne? In other words, you should come with great confidence, filled with faith because God has prepared this throne of grace for you.

Prayer is an exchange of needs for grace and mercy. God tells you that they await you if you will simply ask Him in your time of need. Let’s not struggle anymore. Let’s not be burdened under the weight of our needs. It doesn’t matter if it is a physical need, financial need, or a spiritual need. Whatever you are facing, God has grace and mercy for you. Grace heals, and mercy extends a helping hand. God is there for you today.
Let’s call upon Him in our time of trouble!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The Passion Of Christ

“The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself.”  John 10:11, The Message

God is on a cross. The creator of the universe is being executed.

Spit and blood are caked to his cheeks, and his lips are cracked and swollen.

Thorns rip his scalp. His lungs scream with pain. His legs knot with cramps . . .

And there is no one to save him, for he is sacrificing himself.

It is no normal six hours . . . it is no normal Friday.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God’s Mercy Endures Forever

MATTHEW 12:20, “A bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgement unto victory.”

MATTHEW 12:15-21, MARK 3:7-19, LUKE 6:12-16

One of the ways in which God‘s goodness is revealed is in mercy. We may describe mercy as the readiness of God to relieve the misery of fallen creatures. Many times, mercy is called compassion or loving kindness. It is expressed toward the sinner because of the misery that sin has brought upon him.

The “reed” referred to in this passage is probably speaking of the reeds that grew in the marshy areas in the land of Palestine. These were very fragile and could be easily bruised or broken. The term “smoking flax” refers to a linen wick which was made from flax and burned brightly when floating on oil in an open lamp. However, when the oil was depleted, the flax would just smoke until the oil was replenished.

The meaning of these illustrations is that Jesus is ministering in mercy to those who have been bruised or broken (Lk. 4:18), and to those who have lost their oil (spirit). He has come to fill them anew (Mt. 5:3; Acts 1:5; 2:4). The Jews were used to the judgment of the law but Jesus came to minister grace and truth (Jn. 1:17), even to the Gentiles (Mt. 12:18, 21).

God’s mercy to the believer is revealed by His act of taking away the misery of sin’s consequences through the New Covenant of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is given to us because of God’s mercy. It’s not something we’ve merited or earned. As the Apostle Paul states, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY He saved us” (Ti. 3:5). God is for you, not against you. Cast all of your care upon Him, because His mercy endureth forever!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The History Of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God 60th Anniversary

The History of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God 60th Anniversary

In July 1909, a son was born into the Akindayomi family of Ondo State of Nigeria. Even though this child grew up surrounded by idol worshippers, he knew there existed a greater power and yearned to know, “The God Who created the earth and everyone on it”. This pursuit for God led him to the Church Missionary Society where he was baptized in 1927. Still spiritually unfulfilled, he joined the Cherubim and Seraphim church in 1931.

Whilst there, he began to hear a voice within him saying, “You will be my servant.” Since this was not his intention, he decided to ignore the voice. This went on for seven years during which all the business ventures that he tried resulted into failure. In debt and without peace of mind, he found himself totally dependent on the grace of God. Here marked the beginning of a definite relationship with God. Totally broken he yielded saying, “Lord, I will go wherever you want me to go.” He asked for signs to confirm that this was indeed God’s call. The confirmation came through the Bible passages of Jeremiah 1:4-10, Isaiah 41:10-13 and Romans 8:29-31. The Lord assured him that He would provide for all his needs, as he would not receive any salary from that point on. This proved to be a comforting reminder during the trials in the months ahead. He became married in 1941. He continued to worship with the Cherubim and Seraphim. In 1947, he started to become concerned that the church was departing from the true Word of God in some of its practices. By 1952, he felt totally persuaded to leave the church. He started at Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos a house fellowship called, “The Glory Of God Fellowship”. Initially there were nine members but before long the fellowship rapidly grew as the news of the miracles that occurred in their midst spread.

Pa Akindayomi also had a vision of words that appeared to be written on a blackboard. The words were “The Redeemed Christian Church Of God.” Amazingly, Pa Akindayomi who could not read or write was supernaturally able to write these words down. In this visitation, God also said to him that this church would go to the ends of the earth and that when the Lord Jesus Christ appears in glory, He would meet the church.

The Lord then established a covenant with Pa Akindayomi, synonymous to the Abrahamic covenant in the Bible. He said that He the Lord would meet all the needs of the church in an awesome way if only members would serve Him faithfully and be obedient to His Word. It is upon this covenant that The Redeemed Christian Church Of God was built.

Thus, The Redeemed Christian Church Of God was born in 1952, destined by the Lord Himself to take the world for Him. The church continued to meet at 9 Willoughby Street until they were able to acquire some land thereby witnessing relocation to the present site of the Headquarters of the church at 1-5 Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos (formerly !A, Cemetery Street).

Sometime in the early 70s, God had spoken to Pa Akindayomi about his successor. The Lord told him that this man, who was not a member of the church then, would be a young educated man. Thus when a young university lecturer joined the church in 1973, Papa was able to recognize him in the Spirit as the one that the Lord had spoken about in the past. This man, Enoch Adejare Adeboye who was then a lecturer of Mathematics at the University of Lagos soon became involved in the church. He became one of the interpreters translating Pa Akindayomi’s sermons from Yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975.

As Papa was preparing to meet his creator, he sent for Pastor Adeboye and spent several hours sharing with him details of the covenant and the plans of the Lord for the church. Even though a year before this, the Lord had revealed to Pastor Adeboye that he would be Papa’s successor, it was still too difficult for him to fully contemplate such an awesome responsibility. Pa Josiah Akindayomi was 71 years old when he died. Amidst controversy, Pastor Adeboye’a appointment was formalized by the reading of Pa Akindayomi’s sealed pronouncement after his burial.

Since 1981, an open explosion began with the number of parishes growing in leaps and bounds. At the last count, there are at least about 20,000 parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide.

Today, God is still doing marvellous deeds through The Redeemed Christian Church of God, in 195 nations. One of the well-known programs of the church is The Holy Ghost Service, an all night miracle service that holds on the first Friday of every month at The Redemption Camp at Km, 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The average headcount of those who attend the service is in millions. The Holy Ghost Service now holds around the world monthly, led by Pastor Adeboye, and twice a year in London. Similarly, Pastor Adeboye leads these services in Washington DC and Toronto, Ontario, Canda once in a year and once in Europe every two years.

The success story of RCCG stems from God’s faithfulness of His covenant, and also Akindayomi and Adeboye’s obedience and holiness – as God’s choice of successor was also paramount.

Wait More On The Lord

I wait for the Lord more eagerly than watchmen wait for the dawn – than watchmen wait for the dawn (Psalms 130:6)

When God decides to bless, He does not know how to be miserly. Hence, Psalms 68:19 says He releases loads of blessings on a daily basis. Jesus taught us to ask for our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). When we ask for our daily bread, He gives us a load of benefits for that day. If only you receive yours daily, you will lack nothing but enjoy abundance on daily basis. May this be our daily experience from today in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

In Genesis12:1-3, He did not only promise to bless Abraham but also to make him a blessing through which the whole world will be blessed. To be a recipient of such blessing, you must be prepared to go to other nations. Before He made Abraham a channel that blessed the world, God asked him first to leave where he was. According to Matthew 28:18-20, if you want to be a blessing to the world, you must first go out into the entire world to preach the Gospel. Salt is useless except it s put into soup. May we be an avenue through whom the whole world will be blessed, Amen!

Moreover, when God visits, He does not do it casually. For instance, when He visited Abraham, He was in no hurry. He took time to sit, waited for the food to be prepared, ate and discussed. He does not just pass by. This season, the Lord will visit us and spend quality time with us, Amen!

The Lord wants to spend quality time with His children when He visits but most of us find it difficult to invest quality time waiting in His presence. God’s visit respects the principle of sowing and reaping. God could visit Abraham for a long time because Abraham had learnt to wait on Him. For instance, shortly before that divine visit, Abraham made an offering to God and waited on his offering until God sent fire from Heaven as a mark of accepting his sacrifice (Genesis 15:9-17). Many offer to God but are so impatient that they leave without knowing whether He has accepted it or not. Many simply use faith to cover their impatience. When God accepts your sacrifice, offering, thanksgiving or gift, He will tell you so. It is in the place of waiting on Him that your greater blessings are delivered. It is while you wait that secrets that will affect you and your generation will be revealed. Wait more on Him!

Key Point:

If you can wait on God, the world will wait on you!

Thank You Jesus

Thank Him Now!

He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities.

Isaiah 53:5, NIV

Perhaps thinking to satisfy the crowd’s thirst for blood without actually going so far as to execute Jesus, Pilate had Him flogged. The flogging would have ripped the flesh off of His back, exposing His internal organs. History records that flogging victims either passed into unconsciousness, went insane, or died. The miracle is not that Jesus survived the whipping, but that He submitted to it! How easy it would have been for Him to defy them and, without cursing but in righteous judgment, send them all to hell!

Why? Why would God allow His Son to endure such physical torture? The answer had been given years earlier, when Isaiah solemnly prophesied, “Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. . . . He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed” (Isa. 53:4-5, NIV). Hallelujah!

Thank Him now for bearing God’s judgment that should have been ours!

Seek God Until You Find Him

Receiving Direction From God!

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve
Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD
searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the
thoughts: if thou seek Him, He will be found of thee; but if thou
forsake Him, He will cast thee off forever

1 Chronicles 28:9
Often we read about how God responded to David and Moses when they were
in the middle of a situation. However, when Scripture says that God
intervened, it doesn’t necessarily mean that He moved immediately.
God expects you to seek Him. Go to the Word of God and study it. Then,
stay in your prayer closet long enough for your own thoughts to recede
and the mind of the Spirit takes precedence. Pray in the Holy Ghost.
After you do these things, you will start to focus.
Seek Him until you find Him. Stay with Him until you receive His
answer. When you get His direction, you can have supreme confidence
that God will cause what He said to come to pass. Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Will Not Bless Your Mess

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and
into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction
and perdition
1 Timothy 6:9

Paul did not say that this would happen to those who are rich. He said
that this would happen to those who crave, lust after, and chase
riches.
There are two systems: God’s prosperity that comes when you chase after
God, and God causes abundance to chase after you; and the world’s
prosperity that results from chasing after money because you really
don’t know God.
You cannot know God and still act like the world, chasing after things,
lusting after things or buying things simply because you want what
someone else has. You have to discipline your flesh. God will not bless
your mess. As long as you violate Scripture, He is unable to put His
hand into your financial life and change things. You need to first go
back to God’s Word and make some decisions about how you will live your
life. Then, He will be able to help you. Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
