Prayer!

Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
John 11:41-42

Jesus-the only perfect man-prayed consistently. He prayed to give God thanks and He prayed when He was afraid (Luke 22:42-44). We should follow His example and pray continuously as well.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” When we pray, we open the door for God to work within us and in our lives. He promises to give us what we need. Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” God can’t make you enter into His kingdom, but He can stand at the door and knock.

Peter walked on the water until his focus turned away from Jesus to himself. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus he did not sink. When he looked at his circumstances he started to sink.

Get your eyes off yourself and your problems and get them onto Jesus. Put your faith in Him; He will not let you down.

Just as her friends were doing, my daughter Melissa was busily preparing for adulthood. At school, she was getting ready for college by taking the right courses and had signed up for the ACT college entrance test.

Outside of class, Melissa was learning the socialization skills it takes to get along with people by spending time with friends, classmates, and teammates. At her job, she was learning the relational skills needed for a future career of work. At home, Mell was preparing for future family life by experiencing the way a Christian family would interact.

Getting ready for life as an adult takes work, and Melissa was making good progress.

But none of that preparation was what she would need. In 2002, when she died in a car accident at age 17, the only preparation that mattered was her readiness for heaven.

When the truest test of preparedness came so suddenly on that beautiful June evening—when eternity’s door opened for Melissa—she was prepared. She had put her faith in Jesus and trusted His sacrifice on the cross for her sins (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8-9).

When she faced the ultimate test of being prepared, Melissa was ready. Are you? —Dave Branon

Let us not place our hope in winning a “jackpot or lottery,” but our hope must remain in Christ, who gives us the power to get wealth

Let us not place our hope in winning a “jackpot or lottery,” but our hope must remain in Christ, who gives us the power to get wealth

Beloved of God!

As we embark upon the holiest time in the Christian Church calendar, I pray that
our focus today is on the goodness, grace and mercy of God and not on the $540+
million lottery. While the scripture does not say, “thou shall not gamble,” there
are numerous scriptures that point to God’s methods for wealth creation: Deuteronomy
8:18; Proverbs 6:6-8; Proverbs 13:11; Proverbs 21:5, 20; Proverbs 28:20; and Malachi
3:10-11.
Numerous studies have proven that the lottery system is supported by the
poorest communities in our nation. Those who can least afford to spend $10 – $40
per week on tickets are the very ones who comprise the bulk of ticket sales. Therefore,
winners of these lotteries are in essence reaping their sudden wealth from the poorest
members of our society. If we were asked today to stand in line for hours to share
the Gospel of Christ, how would we respond? Saints, let us not place our hope in
winning a “jackpot,” but our hope must remain in Christ. It is unequivocally, the
greatest and most rewarding investment that we will ever make.

Always pray for those who are in authority

Always pray for those who are in authority

1 Timothy 2:1-2 says: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” This is the will and plan of God. In other words, God tells us that He can have influence upon the hearts of men, upon kings and other people in authority. He tells us the way He can have this influence is if we will lift them up before Him. I know that you may not be like me, but I often forget my leaders. I’d rather complain than pray. But here we see that God can change the hearts of the people and the circumstances; not just kings and presidents, but even mayors, teachers, co-workers, and bosses – if we will lift them up in prayer. This is why God tells us to pray for those who persecute us, so that He can touch and change their hearts. So let’s pray today, instead of complaining. Let’s not forget, but let’s lift them up before God.

Remember to Pray!

There is no limit to God’s favour in our lives

As God’s children, we are given His favour as a special gift. But the favour of God is not about us; it’s about His grace and desire to bless His children for their faithfulness and obedience. He’s a good and loving Father, and He’s ALWAYS looking for ways to show us His love.

God’s heart is so big, and He’s filled with so much good that He doesn’t have to take favour away from one person to give it to someone else.

THERE’S NO LIMIT TO GOD’S FAVOR IN YOUR LIFE.

But remember this…living in the favour of God doesn’t mean you won’t have setbacks or difficulties. It doesn’t mean that you won’t have to persevere, press on or keep hope alive through hard times. The truth is it’s in difficult moments that we are able to truly appreciate the favour of God in the most powerful ways.

You are God’s child, and God will give you the blessing He promised! Galatians 4:7

I can’t assure you your family will ever give you the blessing you seek—but I know God will!

If your earthly father doesn’t affirm you, then let your Heavenly Father take His place!

It’s one thing to accept Him as LORD, another to recognize Him as Saviour. To recognize God as LORD is to acknowledge that He is sovereign and supreme in the universe. To accept Him as Saviour is to accept His gift of salvation offered on the cross of Calvary.

To regard Him as Father is to go a step further! A father is the one in your life who provides and protects. That is exactly what God has done. He has provided for your needs. Protected you from harm. Adopted you. And He has given you His name! Hallelujah!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Believing God for Abundance

Believing God for Abundance

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.

Luke 14:28

You need to believe that God’s blessing will cause you to have
abundance. If you do these practical things that are in line with God’s
Word—be faithful concerning the resources God has given you, and give unto
God like the Word of God teaches—you can trust God.

Every day, get up and confess what God is doing to your finances.
Confess how His blessing is on your life and how it is making you rich.
Confess how God is sending men your way to give unto you good measure,
pressed down, shaken together and running over. Rehearse your victory
dance! Stay in faith! Your whole situation will turn around quickly
because God cooperates with individuals who obey Him.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Stand Firm

Stand Firm

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
Isaiah 7:9

Sometimes we hold on to that which is unsure, afraid to reach out for the thing that is sure. You cannot have both. You must leave the shaky house to move into the house built on the rock. You can’t live in two houses or kingdoms at the same time.

There are only two kingdoms: Fear and FAITH. If you are walking in fear you are not in faith. Faith in God will cause the impossible to manifest in your life. Faith says that “it will happen” while fear says, “it will never happen.”

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Your heart is purified by faith, you are sanctified by faith, you live by faith, you are justified by faith, you have access by faith, and you stand by faith. It would be a foolish farmer who sowed seeds not expecting a harvest. For he has faith that because he sowed seeds, he will reap crops.

To seek is to search out, investigate, crave, demand and worship. How do you seek God? God honours those who actively and persistently pursue Him-in faith.

Get in God’s will, and stay in it!

Get in God’s will, and stay in it!

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and
no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept
my word, and hast not denied my name.

Revelation 3:8

God is expecting us not only to keep His Word written for us but also to
keep the Word that He has spoken to us. That is why you can’t just walk
away. You can’t say, “I don’t want to do this anymore. Those people
made me mad. I am tired of it.”

Let me tell you. Whatever God sent you to do, He expects you to do that
until He tells you otherwise. I don’t care what happens. God didn’t
find out something all of a sudden. God knew the future before you
found it out. In fact, He knew it before He talked to you. Get in God’s
will, and stay in it!

Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,
At times I am tired. At times I am weary. But I confess Your strength!
I confess that You have all that I need to remain faithful! I confess
that through Your power I can rise on eagle’s wings and soar in Your
presence! In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
