God will not force you to give but He will bless you when you do

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

God will not force you to give but He will bless you when you do

Give, and it will be given to you…. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Luke 6:38
As a Christian, you are in a different kingdom now. God’s kingdom is completely different from everything in the kingdom of the world. In this kingdom, in order to get, you must give (your talents, time, resources, ect).
The instruction you choose to obey determines the future you will create. God won’t force you to give but He will bless you when you do. It doesn’t make sense to trust your soul to God and not your talents, gifts, time and resources.
Jesus gave numerous instructions on what to do with your resources and we ignore them at our peril. Everything God instructs you to do is for your own good.
God is your Father. Trust Him to provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Faith without works is dead. Choose this day whom you will obey. You are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who have decided to believe God regardless of their opposition.
Follow their example and lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares you, and run with endurance the race that is set before you, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (see Hebrews 12:1-2).

Luke 7:13-14, “And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not, And he came and touched the bier: and they that bear him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.”

LUKE 7:11-17

This example of the widow’s son being raised from the dead is often used to demonstrate that Jesus produced many miracles without any faith from those receiving the miracle, but by His faith alone. However, the prayer in Mark 6:5-6 shows that Jesus could not (nor would not) do many mighty works in His home town because of the people’s unbelief. Many scriptures reveal that faith must be present to receive from God (Mk. 11:23-24; Jas. 1:5-7).

So, whose faith was present in this instance? First, the mother of the boy responded to Jesus in faith. For this woman to allow Jesus to interrupt the funeral procession and tell her to stop weeping has to be viewed as a positive response. These people were no different from mourners at funerals today. If she had rebelled at Jesus’ intrusion, the crowd would have sided with her because of pity, but none of these reactions are recorded. Jesus was in command.

Second, it cannot be proven that a dead person has no choice in what happens. We may take it for granted, but the scriptures don’t state that. A person doesn’t cease to exist at death; he simply leaves his body. The person is still very much alive. Many people who have been raised from the dead have mentioned that they had a choice in whether or not to enter their bodies again. Although this principle cannot be verified by scripture, it cannot be ruled out by scripture either.

In any case, to be consistent with the rest of scripture, some degree of faith had to be present in either the person receiving the miracle, or an intercessor (in this case, the mother). Reach out in faith to receive your miracle today.

God‘s Purpose for your life.

Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”
Everything begins with God. You were made by Him, you did not create yourself and until you understand that, life will never make sense. If you want to discover your purpose in life, don’t turn to the world for an answer, but to God.

How Much More, God?

This might be what you are feeling, or have felt lately, especially when it comes to the talk of high gas prices or more economic challenges!  Or maybe that is the question you have been asking for the trials you are facing or the things you are believing for: “How much more, God?!?”

I want you to be encouraged today to see this phrase “how much more” from a different perspective. Rather than “how much more can we take?” as if life’s challenges are so great that we can’t take any more of what we are facing, I want you to see that Jesus said “how much more” is God’s delight and desire in blessing you, and not just a question of frustration or hopelessness!

This is why we don’t need to look at the trial, sickness or challenge from the negative or hopelessness. Instead we need to claim our promise that God is going to intervene in our lives all the more than what we are facing!

Jesus said, in Luke 12:32, Fear not little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

He also encourages us that God is far better at providing for His children than earthly parents, Matthew 7:7-11. “How much MORE shall your Heavenly Father give to them who ask” verse 11.  Do you see it? How MUCH MORE God will bless or give to those who ask Him.

Are you ready to ask? Not a question of “How much more?” But asking the Father for those things that are deeply on your heart, and then watch “HOW MUCH MORE” He will bless you by meeting your needs!

Be encouraged today!

God Is Good To You, He Loves You!

God Is Good To You, He Loves You!

Psalm 73:1 says:

“Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.”

We understand that God desires to be good to us.

James 1:17 says:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

God gives us a pure heart. He washes away our sins through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ, and He gives us His Word so that we may stay free from sin and transgression. He leads us into the paths of His Word and of righteousness for His Name’s sake. In other words, when this verse says God is good to Israel, to everyone who is of a clean heart, it simply means that God sent His Son to do away with the filth of the heart and the cause of the filth so that you can be pure of heart. Why? Because God wants to do you good! Isn’t that something?

God wants to do you good!

Though you may feel so small and insignificant in your own life and in the eyes of the world, God has been thinking about you, and He sent His Son to cleanse you so that He may do you good.
God loves you!

One Beautiful Moment

One Beautiful Moment

READ: Isaiah 40:6-11

All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. —Isaiah 40:6

One snap of the shutter, and there it was . . . one beautiful moment captured in time for eternity. The late summer sun reflected in the breaking wave made the water look like liquid gold splashing onto the shore. If my friend had not been there with his camera, the wave would have gone unnoticed, like so many others that have come and gone, seen only by God.

Who can imagine how many waves Lake Michigan has sent rolling onto the shoreline? Yet each one is unique. As seen in every wave, God makes extravagant beauty out of seemingly mundane things. Using water and air, He makes wondrous works of art. We enjoy His gallery in skies above and on earth and sea below. But most of earth’s beauty remains invisible to us; it is seen only by God.

God uses another gallery to display His glory—humans. We too are made out of something ordinary—dust (Gen. 2:7). But to us He added an extraordinary ingredient—His very own breath (v.7). Like waves of the sea and flowers of the field (Isa. 40:6), our lives are brief and seen by few. Yet each one is a beautiful “moment” created by God to say to the world, “Behold, your God!” whose Word will last forever (v.8). —Julie Ackerman Link

Only one life, so live it well,
And keep your candle trimmed and bright;
Eternity, not time, will tell
The radius of that candle’s light. —Miller

Sometimes God does not answer our immediate prayer because He has something greater in store for us

The Silence of God

He who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.

Psalm 32:10, NKJV

Is God silent in your life? What prayers has He not answered for you?

At a time of unanswered prayer in my life years ago, my mother taught me the verse to a hymn that I still quote when I am totally baffled by events that seem to careen out of the orbit of what I have asked:

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,

Trust Him when thy strength is small,

Trust Him when to simply trust Him,

Seems the hardest thing of all.

Is your focus on your immediate need blinding you to a greater purpose that God is working out? Would you choose to be patient and simply trust Him? Sometimes God does not answer our immediate prayer because He has something greater in store for us.

Blessings

The Power, Victory and Wisdom of God is in you!

1 Peter 5:8

“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

If there is balance in your life, the devil can’t come in. If you have self control, he will not be able to lead you astray. Be sober, be vigilant and remember that the victory of God is in you. The wisdom of God is in you. The power of God is in you.

Thought for the Day

Verse 3 Prudence (the ability to make sound judgments), enables us to avoid Satanic entrapments. It develops as we grow in the knowledge of good and evil by daily walking with God and obeying the principles in His Word. Developing a sensitivity and instant obedience to Gods voice is prudent, because God will warn us of evils that we have no way of knowing about apart from Him. Many Christians testify of having been saved from life-threatening situations because they heard a warning in their hearts from the Lord. The Bible is full of accounts of how the Lord preserved the lives of His children by warning them of danger. Even the life of Jesus, as a child, was saved when an angel of the Lord warned Joseph in a dream to flee Bethlehem (Matthew 2:13-14).
God warned Noah of the coming catastrophic flood, and told him how to build an ark and make provision for survival. God warned Lot and his family of the coming destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and told them to flee. God warned a Pharaoh in Egypt, through a dream, to prepare for seven years of abundance that would be followed by seven years of famine in the days of Joseph. He warned the Israelites in Egypt that the angel of death would kill the first-born of every family and told them to place the blood of a lamb on the lintels and door posts of their houses so that the destroyer would pass over them. God warned Nineveh of impending judgment through Jonah.
The Lord still warns individuals and nations today (through the Bible and His servants) to repent so that they will not be destroyed. When any nations sins reach a certain level, judgment is inevitable if that nation does not repent. God does not desire to see any individual or nation destroyed by the fruit of their own sins. He even spared a heathen nation (the Amorites) for a while longer, until their cup of iniquity was full and He could no longer tolerate their sin. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full (Genesis 15:16).
Verse 4 We can escape destruction and find riches, and honour by humbling ourselves before the Lord. He wants to bless us. The curses coming upon our nations are not from Him, but are the result of rejecting Him and idolizing such things as materialism, lust, and perversion (Jeremiah 2:19). It is never too late to seek the Lord. He is loving and forgiving, and yearns to bring us into a Promised Land of safety and blessing. He Himself paid the penalty of our sins for us.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you (1 Peter 5:6-10).

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father!

Thank You for Your divine protection over me and my family, Lord. I am sure that You have kept me from harm many times, that I was not even aware of. Lord, help me to be prudent and wise in all of my affairs, as I know I bring suffering on myself, when I fail to hear You and proceed in an unwise path. Lord, help me resist evil, and overcome the temptations in my life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for continued safety in these perilous times and may I hear Your warnings, when I need to take any action to avoid trouble and destruction. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen!

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

All Our Enemies Shall Flee

“I will make the people who oppose you afraid of me; I will bring confusion among the people against whom you fight, and I will make all your enemies turn and run from you. (Exodus 23:27)

Read:  Exodus 23:27-30

One of the benefits of God’s presence is fame. In the world, people go to ridiculous extent just to be famous; but do you know that if you can pay the price to be a carrier of God’s presence, you will attract honour, fame, popularity, promotion and joy? Joshua became famous through God’s presence.

So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country. Joshua 6:27

Joshua never thought he could step into the shoes of his master Moses. By the time God chose him, he battled with fear for some time. God had to keep encouraging him. What assisted him to succeed was the presence of God upon his life. As a result of this, not long after, he became known locally and internationally. If you want to be known or to be popular, simply key into God’s presence, be a carrier of His mighty presence and in al little while, you will become famous.

On the other hand, God’s presence can bring terror upon the enemies. When believers flee before their enemies, I begin to wonder what has gone wrong; it should be the other way round, for God has promised us that no enemy would be able to withstand us. Genesis 35:5 says:

Any they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

When God places His terror upon your enemies, they will be afraid of you. They will be incapable of hurting you, anyone or anything associated with you. This season, the terror of God shall come upon your enemies, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen! You shall be UNTOUCHABLE to them. From today, your enemies shall be afraid of you, Amen! Any of them that planned to harm you will receive a divine rebuke. Do not fear the enemy. Stop running from them. They will be the one running from you. Every blessing that your enemies have stolen shall be restored with speed this season in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

PRAYER POINT:

Dear Heavenly Father!

Send Your Fire upon every device of the enemies meant to cause accidents on our roads this season, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Paul:  I have none.

Max: What about your health?

Paul:  My body is beaten and tired.

Max:  Do you have friends?

Paul:  I do, but some have turned back.

Max:  What do you have, Paul?  No belongings. No family.  Criticized by some.  Mocked by others.  What do you have, Paul?
(I sit back quietly and watch.  Paul rolls his hand into a fist.  He looks at it.  I look at it.  What is he holding?  What does he have?

Paul:  I have my faith.  It’s all I have.  But it’s all I need.  I have kept the faith.
(Paul leans back against the wall of his cell and smiles).
